People often ask me how I got started swimming with wild dolphins. It all started over 13 years ago quite 'innocently' I write smiling. I heard about it, scheduled it and was off participating before I had time to give it a second thought! Here's a page from that fateful adventure that I wrote in my journal: We first saw the pod approach from the boat, and as several of my fellow travelers and I slipped into the water, before I knew it I was surrounded by dolphins making eye contact, and pinging me with their sonar. I felt their waves of energy move through the entire essence of my being. They spun around me, large bottlenose dolphins, dwarfing me in surreal streams of bubbles with a power that left me feeling staggered, exhilarated, and full of life. I felt their souls — joyous, inquisitive, patient, humorous, and a million things more. I had no time to wonder what they thought of me. I could barely remember my name when it was all over. Their exquisite bodies barely pumping once before they disappeared off in the turquoise distance. I was hooked. My heart raced, my awareness distracted, I realized I needed to clear my snorkel and mask. When I emerged from the sea, dragged myself back aboard the boat, I could hardly speak. What does one say when they have come face to face with a being clearly more powerful than themselves?
It's been 13 years since that first wild dolphin encounter, with many miraculous ones following since. In 2008, I am honored and proud to invite you to return to the sea with me for more wild dolphin adventuring, in two different parts of the world! The Bahamas, and Belize! These will be live aboard sea weeks (with regular land stops) and have the tremendous good fortune of unlimited time to connect with any willing wild dolphins. I'll also be incorporating sound energy healing, meditation, and more as we adventure. Falling asleep under the stars while gentle waves rock you to sleep is optional.
